Lead the delivery of headhouse work packages at a ventilation shaft on a major high-speed rail tunnelling project, managing subcontractors from preparation to completion.
The role
We are recruiting a Package Manager to lead the delivery of headhouse packages at a ventilation shaft site in Northolt, part of a major high-speed rail tunnelling project. You will prepare and deliver the works, manage resources and guide subcontractors, making sure everything is built safely, on programme, on budget and to design.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the site team, subcontractors, suppliers and third parties to the required health, safety, environmental and quality standards
- Develop the construction methodology, programme and cost, and prepare resources, procurement, consents and pre-start documentation
- Review subcontract agreements, produce site-specific programmes and forecasts, and report progress and changes to the Construction Manager and QS team
- Manage subcontractor accounts with the QS team and keep accurate daily site diaries and records of change
- Make sure RAMS and inspection and test plans are implemented and followed
- Liaise with the client, stakeholders, the design and engineering team and the scheduling team
About you
- 6+ years’ experience in construction
- HNC, HND or degree in building or civil engineering
- Strong knowledge of construction techniques, sequencing and contracts
- Confident with MS Office, document control systems and AutoCAD
- Relevant CSCS card and health, safety and environmental training
- Desirable: Tier 1 or AFO / civils experience, early contractor involvement and SMSTS or SSSTS
