Senior Project Engineer (Piling) – Euston

The role

A specialist piling and foundations contractor is looking for a Senior Project Engineer to work across a number of sites around Euston on a major high-speed rail programme in London. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the safe, profitable and high-quality delivery of piling and diaphragm wall works, working closely with the project and site teams. Extensive piling experience is essential.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and maintain method statements, risk assessments, ITPs and lift plans, and raise and close out non-conformances
• Make sure the correct design information is used and works are built to the design intent, keeping records of any variations
• Manage rig instrumentation records, production graphs and as-built drawings, and carry out on-site quality checks
• Complete quality documentation for every pile, and lead shaft and diaphragm wall panel inspections before concreting
• Liaise with the client, engineers, suppliers and stakeholders, and run weekly progress meetings
• Manage the project cost plan, early warnings and compensation events with the Project Manager and commercial team

About you

• Extensive piling experience is essential
• Strong knowledge of rotary bored piling and diaphragm walls
• Experience managing support fluids (polymer), including in complex ground conditions such as high water tables and artesian water
• Experience of pile shaft or diaphragm wall panel inspections using sonic calliper or Koden systems
• Experience checking complex reinforcement cages (up to 50mm bars with couplers)
• Working knowledge of NEC contracts and a relevant CSCS card
• Experience on major infrastructure projects is highly desirable
